I launched this podcast following a 40-year struggle with a profound fear of death. This fear, over time, had propelled me into a pit of addiction and deteriorated my mental health. However, with the aid of sobriety and therapeutic interventions, I managed to rise from the depths of despair and find the courage to share my experiences.

As a devoted single father, my children play an integral role in this project too - they're my de facto editors, infusing a hint of humor into our daily routine.

The title of the podcast reflects a candid and raw conversation about death, underscoring its universality. Death, after all, is an inevitable part of our shared human experience, so why should we shirk from discussing those who have passed? They were, as we are, far from perfect.

In the spirit of unflinching honesty and directness that characterizes me, I chose a title that reflects the content of our podcast. It's entertainment focused on history and true crime - a candid, sometimes irreverent, exploration of the lives of those who've left us. Perhaps it's a little like making fun of the dead, but it's also about embracing our collective journey with levity and courage.

The podcast's title, "Making Fun of Dead People," is intended to confront the taboo of death head-on. After all, death is a universally shared experience. Discussing those who have passed away shouldn't be avoided – not everyone who dies was a saint.
